Through sponsorship funds which have been identified to assist students from Canadian Universities, we are able to offer financial support to Canadian students who apply.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the student program the individual must:
- Be a student (PhD, master, or bachelor) enrolled in a university program or a postdoc within 2 years after receiving their PhD degree.
- Be working in the field related to the topics covered by the SSP conference.
- Submit an abstract to the conference.
- Be able to attend the entire conference.
- Be willing to assist the LOC during the conference – roles defined below
Financial Support
There are limited funds available to provide Canadian students partial financial support (i.e. registration and shared accommodation) to attend SSP2015. Support will be allocated based on several criteria - the relevance of the student's research to the field, whether the student is the primary author of a contribution to the conference, the reference letter from a supervisor, and the financial need as evaluated by the local organizing committee as well as the available funds.
All applications should be sent to with the following information:
- General information (name, level, contribution number)
- A brief letter explaining your need for support
- A reference letter from advisor, department or institution that confirms your position, your research and your financial need
- A copy of a document certifying your enrollment in the academic institution or your employment as a post-doc and the year of your PhD.
The deadline for applications is MARCH 30, 2015. Successful applicants will be notified by APRIL 13, 2015, and are required to respond with a formal confirmation by APRIL 27, 2015. Please register as early as possible. |
